Let's stay on topic here please. Sheesh, it must be time for a nap or something.
For coyote and fox. What fur friendly factory 223 ammo would you suggest for an 18" 1 in 8 twist barrel and why? And don't tell me I will have to experiment to see what shoots best. and I realize I may have to shoot different rounds for each predator.
I want answers!

So essentially you did not answer my question. Anyhow, do you use them on fox, coyote or both? What's the length and twist of your barrel?

Here do a little homework Sonny it's coming out of a Ruger Compact, look it up!! and it is good for both!!
It's once again all about shot placement..
In your case shootin trees and rocks will not yield fur!!
Geez!!

Since your fat finners don't type well:
Ruger M77 Mark II Compact bolt-action rifle
.223 Remington caliber
16-1/2" barrel
6 grooves
1:10" twist

So easy a question!
Shoot anything they have that's on SALE
Doesn't really matter with you behind the trigger
doesn't get much more fur friendly then that
That 18 inch barrel 1 in 8 twist is fine for you ...might have velocity concerns and bullet stability concerns out past 300 meters
but since you have trouble hitting paper at 30 feet
this shouldn't be an issue
.............................
BTW no smart A$$ response as we have Jake to back us up on your shooting ability!!!! LOL

That holds no water! Jake has only ever seen me miss one time and I severely misjudged the distance on a fox. I killed everything I ever shot at when I was with him. I take that back, plus the hail mary shot at 5,000 yards with a 22 hornet. I just grazed it's back.
I give you an honest question in the hopes of keeping your activity level up for the day and you still can't answer my question. I am going to rename this thread to "Ask the OLD COOTS but don't expect an honest answer".
I have done plenty of homework on the subject but thought with age came wisdom. Boy was I wrong. CupcakesAnchor and Sparky are losing brain cells at an alarming rate.
I didn't want to know what you shoot or use, but rather, "What fur friendly factory 223 ammo would you suggest for an 18" 1 in 8 twist barrel and why? I will give you one more chance before I pull your Dear Abby credentials.

Sonny also didn't say he wanted answers he would be HAPPY with
I will divulge all this valuable HAPPY information at the "BREAKFAST" he owes us
. "I severely misjudged"
you do that a lot!
I'm thinking Goose maybe we should be looking for a real guide
He warned us about falling asleep in his FURD
which might be easy to do from Boredom....loooking at Roadkill...
..............
BTW (LOL) I was talking about your son Jake...
who did you think I meant?
Multiple witnesses perhaps???

Jakie is a real good lad that will rat out his dad just by being honest
we know this from the last Brekie at Yankee-Doodle when Jake disagreed with his Dad's far fetched story...
