I don't do anything with them.  I put them in my pocket during season and when out of season I keep them in in a plastic container or a little nylon pouch.  I use them hard.  If they break or loose pitch then they go in the trash and I make or buy new.

It seems that predator hunters are their own worst enemies by over thinking everything.  Practice being a good woodsman, scout and study the habits of your prey if you want the best results.  You don't have to have a specific rifle, call, camo and so on.  I have won state calling competitions and finished 2nd and 3rd in the world for calling.  That doesn't mean crap except I know sounds and calls.  Some of the best hunters I know sound like crap and use low end equipment, chew tobacco, smoke or don't even wear camo.  Don't take this the wrong way but there are more important things to being a successful predator hunter than how to store your calls.  Having said that, if you find it a valuable tool than do what works best for you.
"Predators are either active & feeding, semi-active & callable, or utterly inactive & then practically speaking, no call is needed; we're just taking our guns for a walk. We can & should get used to it, & follow their leed cuz they just ain't eager nor apt to follow our’s any time soon!

I've always just rinsed mine off with water making sure that water gets in between the reeds.  Saliva is the first process of digestion and can degrade the reeds quickly.  After I rinse them with water I just simply let them air dry and put them back in their box.

Forgot to add that my calls last many years this way.  I have some that are ten years old.  If the reeds or latex stick together, put it in your mouth until it gets good and wet.  Turn it around and blow hard between the reeds.  Wallah, problem solved. ;D ;D ;D

The PPHA has not had a calling contest for several years now.  As far as other organizations holding contest you will have to travel to see them.  I know there was one last year at the Great American Outdoor Show (old sportsmens show) but not sure if there was one this year.  Go to YouTube and you can see a bunch of videos.

I know the World competition was held in Georgia, Ohio, Texas and Kansas I believe.  Last one was in Texas.  People are not as interested in stage predator calling competitions as they are turkey, duck, elk and so on.  In PA the PPHA were the pioneers of this.  The majority of the best callers in the world are from this state and most were or are still members of this organization.

would be nice if a mouth call existed that  you slip in a diaphragm call and it would work just like a diaphragm call in a person mouth...Again I can't use them but I probably need to cut some down and try it again with the data that was provided on here...

Tom doesn't hunt turkeys.. At the time neither did I... The coyote your talking about was eating wild turkeys but then it started going after the owners chickens... The owner came out of the house with the broom after three coyotes trying to get her chickens.. The two younger coyotes ran away. We do think that the 50 + pounder was the one that growled at the women and wouldn't take off.. They called us and it was in the month of April... It took me 45 minutes to call in that coyotes using Crit_R-Call open reed calls and yanked it's chain.. Tom shot it about 40 yards down wind of me when it was coming to my calling... He killed it with a Mossberg pump and 2 3/4 # 4 buckshot..
