Longhair
Some day I will offer a discount. Matter a fact, as soon as I make the calls people are waiting for and asked for all year long are filled I will jump in for a PPHA discount.
For a brief moment I could hear nature through all the noise.

Longwinded, take my advise. Buy a call before Buckteet croaks, coz then the price will skyrocket.

Some of the other guys are offering discounts with their calls for the members. So don't ya think he should too ??

Obviously you do not know ernie very well.  I know that he himself just gives some of his best calls out for free to those that he think will use them.  and I know that it is the majority of what he makes.

and trying a quilt trip on someone because they do not offer a discount is kinda low if ya ask me.  each one of those callmakers that do offer a discount do it on there own account.  I am not trying to put down the other callmakers but when ernie makes a call not very many are alike where some of the others are custom tuned and have the reeds selected to make the best sound but in other words they pretty much look the same.  all of em are custom calls but once you put the hours of work that is involved in turning sanding fitting and finishing a wooden call or even a acrylic call like ernie and curtis make it takes a lot of time.  I make calls on a as I feel like it basis.  I knew that I would never make money on it and to tell ya the truth the only people that have recieved a horn howler were the ones that wanted one.  I only made the first couple to make a howler the way I liked it and with the sound I wanted with the features I wanted.  I think that is how most callmakers start out is they wanted something that they could not buy.  so they made what they wanted.  after the word gets out about em is when the callmaker decides if he wants to make it work or fun.  I choose fun and make em when I feel like it.  I guess you are going to be at the picnic this weekend.  I am looking forward to meeting you if you are because these boards can only translate so much.  please do not take offense and I hope to see you this weekend.  takereasy ben smyser
