Question about the Newsletter
« on: January 26, 2006, 01:10:19 PM »
I recently recieved the latest PPHA newsletter and at the end it talked about a group that wants to Eliminate All Classes of Furtaker Licenses. So theyre proposing to eliminate the furtakers liscence and include furtakers with your general hunting liscence. then increase the cost of the general hunting liscence about a dollar? am i right? i was just wondering because i was a little confused how it was worded in the newsletter.
Thanks.

It's from the PA Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs.

They want to eliminate the furtakers license.  They said increasing the regular license fee would make up for any lost revenue from eliminating the furtaker license.  They estimate that in order to do that, the license would need to be raised only one dollar.

It's all in there.  Just have to sort out all the legal-ese langauge they used.

when did the newsletter come out?... aint seen it here yet...

that proposal has received a lot of negative feedback since they came out with it...   it was brought up at the Meeting at Herder Springs that we didn't feel we would support them on this matter... the PFSC has been very vocal against Sunday hunting, til they get off that kick and start supporting expanded oppurtunities for all sportsmen, I say SC**W THEM...

Dale - Got mine on Tuesday.  Rechecked the recipients, didn't see your name in there.  I'm sure it was an oversight.

Sent you a copy!!

Check your email.

I agree with you.  PA Trappers Association is against it too.  My vote is NO!!

huntingisfun - No problem.  I had to read it carefully just so I was clear as well!!

As I stated at the meeting at Herder Springs, poachers would love this.  For an extra dollar, they can be in the woods at night with a gun and if found there, be legal.

and if questioned about calls all they'd have to do is say they were using a lip squeak as a call...

Boy, this is a tough one. P.F.S.C. and the P.T.A. they doth help us out at one time or another when we need law changes. Now these two groups are disagreeing, and we are in the middle. The P.G.C. side I would like to hear more from also on this, they too have treated us really will in the past.  I think we all need to here more and know what we are talking about before I would say anything, let alone vote on this.
Who is getting our information from these people, or is this all second hand information.
For a brief moment I could hear nature through all the noise.

I think it should be legal to take spammers without a hunting license OR a furtaker's license.

3rd one I deleted today. If it weren't for the Spambots, there'd be little to read here!

Buckwheat, someone has to remove the ability of unregistered guests to post.  It seems most guests are bots.
Now I wouldn't mind bantering with the robot from Lost In Space, but all the ones who show up just post an advertising pitch. BP
