I was wondering..
.. while deer hunting the last several days...every time I sat down a minute, I was observing a large number of squirrels....
....I had about 10 in front of me one time....
....Which made me think how many acorns does it take to keep a squirrel going and if they do this every day how many are they using that the deer and turkeys aren't getting...Acorns are marginal where I'm hunting and the deer and turkeys are going to have tough sledding if the weather gets bad later....Thinking I might become a tree rat hunter after X-mas and take a few out..might help the herd...I know their not a glamor species but you might consider doing the same...less competition for available resources..
