Looking forward to the moon gradually fading away the next two weeks...

This fox was shot at 200 yards off a Tri-X stand rest with a .17 Fireball.

Killed these two last night while it was still overcast.  Once the moon was out it was zippo.  Fox 187 yards and coon 75 yards...thanks to the Tri-X stand rest.     Gotta give credit where credit is due.

Thanks Bowman and Bedford.  37 more fox to go (fingers crossed  )...gonna be tough with all the trapping going on...already see a significant decrease in fox numbers.

Even the trapper on the farms I have been hunting hasn't done that well. Seeing one here and there but not like last season.

The fox numbers in the northwest corner seem to be pretty good, but not good enough to keep up with your numbers. Great job!

We are very blessed with a high population of red fox in the Southeast.  Very few coyotes around me and no grey fox though except for maybe one a season.  Someday I would like to hunt further southeast as it gets even better I think in Chester, Montgomery, Bucks, and Delaware counties.  Maryland too.  I'd bet these areas have the best red fox hunting in the country.

I have seen a definite decrease in fox numbers, starting last year. This year has been tough. And, more and more coyotes showing up in southern York Co...
