Nice concept in lights

     I recently purchased one of these lights for fox hunting.  I purchased it in green.  I've used it a few times and the green light didn't seem to scare the reds from coming in.  I really like the light because it's not bulky or cumbersome.  It is a magnet that simply sticks on the bottom of the gun barrel.  Simply stick it on and pull it off when finished.  I can easily see out 200 yards to shoot.   Just passing along some technology...  Here is the web site.

When I read your post I thought the flashlight itself was magnetic  It's just a magnetic rail system for rings. A better idea would be to make a flashlight that has a magnetic bar attached to it so you can stick it on without rings or an entire rail system.

Do you attach that to the barrel of a rifle. If so that's not good.

Yes....its a felt covered magnet that attaches to the bottom of the barrel.  I"ve used it a few times and haven' had any problems.  What do you forsee as a problem / concern?  Advice and opinions are always welcome!

I would not advise attaching it to the barrel because that will affect your accuracy.

+1 I don't  know of too many guns that will hold zero with something attached to the barrel, shotgun yes rifles no. When you attach something to the barrel it messes with the harmonic balance of the barrel, thus affecting accuracy.

Yes I hold zero.  I shot a red at 165 paces the other night using a Savage 17 Hornet.  I held between his eyes and hit him about an inch low.....was it the light or me???

I actually checked with the copany and asked if they did any independent studies on if it did affect their shooting.  I was told that they had a sniper shoot with the StikN Shoot on at 300 yards and there was only about a half inch drop at 300 yards ....the best the sniper could determine.
