Predator Knife
« on: February 26, 2012, 11:50:51 AM »
Hey guys, I know this a little off topic, but this a project I am currently working on. This is just the blade I have not got the handle on it yet. This is only my second knife. It has a 3" blade and is going to have a curved antler handle it looks like a revolver handle.

Nice work, I recently made my first few knives.I'll try to see if I can figure out how to post a couple pics, I've made four so far and they turned out so nice my father in laws friend offered to buy all four for a suprising amount!! I parted with two, nice work though keep the pics coming on the progress, I would like to see how the engraving turns out in the end.

What kind of material did you use for the blade?  Looks good so far.

It is a high carbon table saw blade I cut out with a angle grinder. Once I do that I shape it with a grinding wheel. Once I am done shaping it make my handle, I like to use antlers from the bucks I kill makes the knife more special. I used epoxy to seal the blade into the handle and to keep it there. I also make my own sheaths out of leather but I don't have any right now so when it's done I will have to improvise. I found this idea of in a outdoor life magazine it was  november 2011, not completely sure on the exact issue. My dad has a cheap engraver I use, and then a sharpie to fill it in. I think I covered everything if you got any questions just ask I am not a professional it's only my second knife.
