Been doing some testing.

Seems amber or yellow colored lights are great on spotting eyes better at longer distance than the red color. Futhermore because light is not cut down as much by red color you can see the body of the animal better at a longer distance.. Combine the amber or yellow light with an illuminated red cross hair and you have a deadly combination. Standard cross hairs also work better because yellow or amber light don't wash out black crosshairs. The new wave of predator hunting.

I have always used an amber (yellow) light. What you are saying is true. I am very happy with my light, but this fall I am going to try a kill light under my barrel instead of trying to shoot one handed...to many misses and poor shots...always something new to try

i have a harder time picking up the yellow eyes from an amber light, so much so that i still use the red in full moon conditions.
