Watched a vidio recently on coyote trapping....I don't trap anymore but I like to watch this stuff...Trapper was dispatching coyote by smacking it in the head and then compressing chest with foot, all of them except alpha male which he shot behind front leg. He didn't show any alpha males so what gives? Are they that nasty or what?

I attended a Game Commission meeting at Elmerton Ave one evening..The speaker was the Pa state trapper.. He explained how he would dispatch a coyote caught in a trap. He said "he'd take his hand and walk it up the back of a coyote in the trap and when he got to the neck he would just snap it.." "Now he said you don't do this dispatching method with the Alpha male or female.". He said "if you start to walk your hand ever so slowly up the backs of the Alpha Male or Female they just bite you".. 

When I caught a 32 pound female in a trap she would not even look at me. She did nothing but just sat with her head looking down.. No barks, growls, whines nothing what so ever etc.. I knew that she surely was not the Alpha female..

a 22 or a crack on the head is all you need. 

as for the state trapper that breaks their necks, i don't buy it!  no one in their right mind would try such a thing.  and i mean try!  how could he break the neck of a 25-45lb wild animal?

i dont about this mothed one may be able to dispatch such an animal but one might also might have a few screws loose also i could see it happening if you were the size of james harrison of the pittsburgh steelers! which i highly doubt you are ! why not a 22 right in tha noggin? would be fun ta watch though!

This is what the guy told the entire audience.. The guy was just a medium build person too not a Pittsburgh Steeler... Probably was a former Navy Seal like Mr. Rodgers...LOL  LOL LOL


If you want to get the coyote head bleached as a trophy best to shoot it in the shoulder...I have a coyote head bleached with a bullet hole in the head... It does make for a good conversation piece..
