"Predators are either active & feeding, semi-active & callable, or utterly inactive & then practically speaking, no call is needed; we're just taking our guns for a walk. We can & should get used to it, & follow their leed cuz they just ain't eager nor apt to follow our’s any time soon!

Wow!  Where are the "off topic police" when they're needed?  If a district #6 member made any of the posts in this thread, they would have been deleted.  I've been patiently waiting for 2 weeks to see what the prizes are, seems there aren't any/many.  Does anyone remember the days when this hunt generated 20-some pages of pre-hunt hype?  Remember the full tables of donated prizes?...some from out of state members?  Remember the crowded check-ins?  Nowadays it generates meaningless "good ole boy small talk".  This is the hunt where I signed on as a member.  How many will sign up this year?  Further we sink.  Gulp. Gasp.

The ppha member that shows to checkin with the most points will be the winner of a Foxpro spitfire game call that was donated by Mike Dillon of Foxpro game calls

Straight form the homepage of the PPHA website...been there for quite some time.

So there is a Foxpro donated call and bigbens donated call?  Woo Hoo.  This reinforces my point and I thank you.  What happened to this hunt?  Why aren't there prizes anymore?

I'm still up in the air.  Not much reason to travel 3 hours for the check in.  I'm not alone in feeling this way, other d6 members have conveyed the same complaints.

That's correct.  I'd rather hunt than drive.

I'll be doing that as well.

The idea of this hunt is not to hunt in NE,SE,SC,SW or NW but to make the journey and find spots in NC Pa to hunt. This may require a hotel room, or a stay at yours or a friends camp or home.
I'm sorry you dont like the way the hunt is set up, I like the opportunity to hunt different areas other than my usual here in SC Pa.
As it seems others do as well and are making the journey for the hunt and camaraderie.

There will be other hunts...if youd like you, as a member, may participate in one of those.

D6 is conducting a 6 week hunt started at the beginning of fur season.

BP, I wouldn't mind the drive if I was lucky enough to draw a Bobcat tag. But since I did not draw one, I have a hard time justifying how I have an equal chance of winning anything. I just don't understand how the point system is fair to the guys that didn't draw a tag. This is the craziest point system I have ever seen. It's kind of like taking a knife to a gun fight and calling it an even fight.

I dont have a Bobcat tag and I dont mind one bit if someone beats me by turning in a bobcat if I only have a fox.
Seems others that dont have a cat tag dont have a problem with it either.

A Bobcat does not beat a coyote. In fact a coyote beats a bobcat.

No I didnt miss any point...you are unhappy and dont feel the point system is fair.

No matter what point system is attached someone will not like it.

Look up the definition of the word "fair". It doesn't say anything about someone having an advantage. I think if everyone had the same chance to win based on a fair point system there wouldn't be anyone unhappy with the point system.
