Sunday night, first stands
« on: October 26, 2009, 10:32:18 AM »
My first stands of the season were with my predator buddy and co-cordinator Tony...We had 6 sets with no response at any set...pretty crappy night other than the good laughs and good stories...the moon was only a half moon, but it surely was lit up as if it was a full moon...I don't  know if that was the whole reason we didn't see much, but hopefully next outing later this week will produce in the places we didn't hit...we too are also going to be using a boat to hunt this season, both on the river (coons) and up at Tioga lake to try and take some yotes...with the lake, we can get to the backside of the state forest that most no one walks to from the parking lot on the other side...we're pretty excited about that trip...

At least you had fun.  I'm sure you will stackem up later.

I had a fun weekend as well.  The rain really messed me and my hunting partners up but we were able to call in a double on greys but no fur on the ground.  I think I heard them laughing as they ran away.  Is that possible? ;D
"Predators are either active & feeding, semi-active & callable, or utterly inactive & then practically speaking, no call is needed; we're just taking our guns for a walk. We can & should get used to it, & follow their leed cuz they just ain't eager nor apt to follow our’s any time soon!

We had a big ol yellow Tom cat sittin just inside our first stand sunday night...we were pretty excited about this stand and been thinkin bout it all summer, as our first stand of the season...we called in 3 red's in that same field while screwing around with a new light and trying out my new backstabber back in july...but that cat sure did get the blood pumpin when we saw a "critter outline" to be later found to be a cat with the light...I hate it when that happens
