Battery memory?
« on: January 14, 2009, 03:00:14 PM »
Any opinions on this concerning nitelite rechargable batteries. I know most rechargable batteries form a memory if they are charged to many time without being completely drained or if they're not completely charged after a full drain. Any or opinions on this? My directions say to charge it after every use (2.5 hrs for every hour used) or once every month. They can be charged up to 24 hours if the battery is completely drained but it says to not to over charge. It has no light that says when it's fully charged though. Should I drain it every week to charge it fully?

The way I do mine is if I am out hunting and notice it is getting dim then when I get home I charge it up. Or if I have been using it a lot and am not going to be going again for a few days I'll let it on to drain the battery completely then give it a full charge. In time you may want to get a second battery that way you always have a fully charged battery.

Get the 2nd battery right at the getgo.  $10 at most electrical supply houses.

Longonair, if you need a battery, hit Sunray electric on Walnut St. in McKeesport.

Oooooooh, I need to make up a long extension cord and a rehostat.......then I could use a car battery. Just put it on the quad with the rest of the stuff. Hmmm, I got a plug in on the quad too. Everything is 12 volt. ;D

nitelite batteries are 6 volt... you'll need to change bulbs if you're gonna run it off the 4 wheeler...

I charge mine every 3 or 4 months on the off season and after every night of hunting... the nitelite charger shuts down when fully charged...
when you step out the truck, you become part of the food chain...
