This morning...
« on: January 19, 2018, 01:18:10 PM »
Jaspr1 and I went  calling Coyote this morning. We got to the first location at 8am.
My e-call is on the blink, so Jaspr set his e-caller out in front of us. Me watching woodlot to right, Jaspr watching woodlot to left.
Within 6-7 minutes, Jaspr laid the smack down on the Boss Dog. 43 lb. Male
Textbook hunt, and always seems special with snow cover.

We called another location, nothing.
We felt we were ahead of the game, at this point, with 1 Coyote on two set ups. Why push our luck?
So we went for Breakfast  ;D

Had a great time Paul and good shooting.
I didn't mention Paul made a good shot. He forgot his shooting rest and his eyes were watering from the cold. I forgot my gloves & longjohns (it's a bugger getting ole).
In any event....Coyote Down

Goose, I didn't have much to do with this hunt.
My area, that's all.
NeverMissJaspr said he was sitting over there, told me to go by the tree.
Even Jaspr's e-caller was used.
His new rifle did the rest.

Did I mention Jaspr forgot his GO-PRO?

Nice job Jaspr! Now take a picture with a sign and put that dog in the old coot hunt! You'll have a commanding lead. You dog slayer! 🐺

That was a big Coyote. When we walked up to it, I said to Paul....That's a big one, gotta go 40 lbs. Paul said, as it approach, he knew it was big.

:) Thank-You! Hern for inviting me along....I had obviously a great time all around  :) :)  I quote Hern "Goose, I didn't have much to do with this hunt.
My area, that's all."  ::) Well boys if you believe that I will sell you some swamp that coyote came out of!  :) He had a plan we discussed it in route. When we got there we set it up based on his knowledge of the area and coyotes. Then to boot he took the back seat in the boat and put me up front.... the rest is history. There is never a guarantee of anything and if we hunted together until our expiration dates we would never be able to duplicate this hunt again. Normally I am to flippant about everything but I truly am disappointed I did not remember to use my Gopro for a made for TV hunt.
The other good thing about being Old Coots is you can be satisfied with "1 and Done" and lets scout from the warmth of the truck and get some food!
coyote 43lbs. Foxpro.. Wildfire 2.. Deluxe Snow Camo and Mummified .22 Mag. rifles...range 300+yds (ok Maybe not 300 but I was looking through teary eyes and cataracts) LOL......................... 8) Hern range was 75 yards by the time I left you yesterday and overnight has exponentially grown..lol
