This thread is to share and help one another inside the fur shed.
Share some pictures of the way you do things or things that help you put up fur. Ask questions.
Am always learning and updating as I go.
I don't have pictures of my work bench and vice, or fridge or tumbler.
Come in, look around...
Fur Hanger (in background)-I used garage door channel to support 2x4's to hang fur.
Fur Hanger- I spaced 11 finishing nails on each side of 2x4's. I can hang 44 pelts. But rarely keep that many in the shed before taking in basement.
Fur Hanger, Also doubles for board storage in the off season...
This picture shows parts of somethings..
-Cardboard duct taped to floor.
-Electric hoist and skun'n base for Coon & Coyote.
-Cart table on wheels for knives, steel, towels & skun'n stuff.
-4x6 leg of my prep table.
Tables & knives are within reach from skun'n area, to save on time.
Over the years, I fleshed pulling down and bending over, pushing away. I now like to flesh straight away, flat out.
I made a small flesh'n & put up table. Here I mounted a new beam, flat out to fit in my belly.
Beam mounted next to door so I can see back of house. When she turns light on, it's time for supper or it's late, late and time to stop.
Wall mounted fleshing knives and scrappers holder. I think that's a broom holder for closet.
Beam slides into wood bracket/slot.
This set up can be used on any work bench.
I made L-shaped bottom supports, screwed in with lags. Beam rock solid.
Lags are removed, Beam stored for the off season.
Here's a 'board holder'. It holds any size board I'm using.
Board rest in slot. I have both hands free to pin up this Red Fox.
-Once again, on the wall, a broom holder. This holds my flesh'n knives & scrappers.
-On table, magnetic tray to hold my pins.
-Plyers to tap in pins or pull pins
-Scissors to trim off front legs
-Sharp knife to touch up lips or lower lip
Thanks for stopping in.
Next time, bring your own Beer or help me skun.
