Nothing beats the realism of a good diaphragm call. E callers are great because of all the different sounds. And it takes the attention off of you. I called in 3 red fox this year with my foxpro and the spotted red bird decoy. All three times the fox attacked the decoy. 1st fox I missed with my first shot. Thought I was done but tried to call her back and what do you know she atracked the decoy again. Needless to say I didn't miss the Second time. That was my first red fox. The other two I didn't even get a shot opportunity.  They came in so hot and attacked the decoy and ran. Could n't get them back. This is my first year ever hunting anything. I take the ecaller and the mouth calls. And the trusty squeaker. I just started in December. Predators only for now.

I use both.  I like the satisfaction that I get from calling one in with a mouth call.  Knowing that it was all you that did it.  However, I like the ability to move the call away from my location when calling coyotes.

They each have a role. Sometimes separate from each other, sometimes even together. There are advantages to each. In the early fox season sometimes I carry only a fox whistle to certain spots.. no need for a big ole Shockwave...nice to travel light sometimes!

I use both. If I hunt myself I like the electronics since all predators hone in on the loudest part of the sound. If I hunt with others the mouth call is more  productive since the predator hones in on me and it's their job to shoot it before it bust us. Many times if electronics don't work mouth calling will! So I use both.

This is what I meant.. nothing too extraordinary..sure it has other names and styles..I use it quite a bit.

I've heard those fox whistles are popular in Australia. Not many guys from the U.S. seem to use them.

It's more or less a coaxed call. I have one and any call on the market that says coaxer sounds like the fox whistle does.

    this is the Aussie Fox Whistle... when I saw your post was wondering if it was the same thing I have.. I had a fellow from down under I used to talk to a lot send them up to me... I had passed out a bunch of them to the guys up there, not sure if any are around anymore...
