I like to set up with the caller behind me. Then I get out away from the call at least 100 yards where I can see another 100 yards or so (if possible) The dogs will circle down wind. I called one in last weekend and the coyote was circling around the bench of the hill which was about 150-175 yards away from the call. It must have been right in the area when I began because after a few challenge barks, he appeared out of no where. At the same time, my buddy saw a second dog on the opposite side of the hill about the same distance, circleing in the same direction.
