Trouble in the snow
« on: December 31, 2012, 07:13:35 PM »
I was at my mountain house this past weekend in Wellsboro doing some predator hunting in the deep snow. I went out several times before the second snow storm came in, but I couldn't get anything to come in. I've used my foxpro and mouth callers, but still nothing moved. I was wondering if anyone else had trouble or am I just in a bad spot? Can any veteran hunters give me some pointers? How does deep snow play a roll in your hunting success?

Don't  get  discouraged when this fluff settles in a bit the critters will be hungry  n the hunting will get better.

I've been trying the daylight hunting out in this deep snow, and have had zero luck... Need that top layer of snow to freeze up so the critters can walk on top again... Been windy almost every day for the past week also.
Addicted to fur for sure

Things just Hold up during the snow storm, but it will work out in a day or two the Yotes will come out around, looking for the food spots , seen 4 take down a yearling in the heavy snow...

I was always told that not much will move during a storm (Rain or Snow)  However, if you get out there when it ends, everything is up and moving again.
