Has anyone gone out for Bobcat?
This wind has really screwed up my spots.
Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

I would not worry about the wind if you have good area with good sign call it.

I'm getting ready to head out in a few to do some day calling. When I first started Bear hunting here a few years back, I was sitting on the ground and one walked right by me about 20 feet away. Wow that shocked the heck outta me, not knowing the rules at that time about them I let it pass by but that was just a fantastic day to see one that close. I've been hooked since.

I figured the break in the weather on Saturday afternoon might bring out the cats. I headed to my favorite spot and scored within minutes. 1 1/2 minutes on a crack rabbit, I saw cat in about 3 minutes. He hung up on me for a minute or 2 and I hit the call a quick puff and he was on his way. I took him at about 60 yards. He hit the scale at 31 pounds, my biggest to date. I took a 28 pound cat last year and back when we had the lottery (2006) I took a 18 pound female. All three cats have one thing in common, all taken at the exact same spot around 1600 hours on a nice afternoon. I call that a hot spot!
I would post a picture, but can't get it to work?

Bedford County, I need to get one into my son next. I actually called in a total of 8 last year, they seem to be a little easier than Coyotes. Just don't use a decoy, they take a seat and watch instead of coming in.

Wow!!! Those are impressive numbers. Must have a good population in your neck of the woods. I've heard about them just sitting there like that. Never tried for a cat yet. Maybe next year. We've got some in the north west part of the state but it's in isolated pockets. Have to travel a bit to get to a good area. Good luck hunting with your son.
