The 20 grain make a difference. Try them, you'll like them.

yea im the one who shot the fox and yea the one ran 150 yards through deep snow and required another shot to bring it down it was on its last leg though but i couldnt believe how tough it was but yea for next year im definitely sticking with the 20 grainers hopefully itll put em down in a lot shorter of distance if it wasnt for the snow im not sure if we couldve found her she didnt bleed a whole lot

haha yah id say. the 17hmr does pretty good for foxes where im at cause im not usually shooting over 100-150 yards. if anyone ever does use the 17hmr just stay away from v-maxes for fox because they dont penetrate. a friend hit two with the vmaxes and they both went at least 100+ yards. he found both of them but mainly because there was snow to track blood in. if there wasn't snow we probably would have never known we hit it lol. I havent got a chance to shoot one with the 20gr xtp's yet but i hear they do a lot better
