Fish Chowder

2-3 lbs. boneless fish fillets, cut into 1 inch squares
3 large potatoes, cooked and cut into 1 inch cubes
1/2 cup butter  or margarine
4 slices bacon
2 large onions, sliced
3-4 carrots, sliced and cooked
1 pkg white country gravy mix
salt and pepper


In a 2 quart pot, saute bacon and onion.  Add butter,  fish, carrots, potatoes, seasonings and enough water to just cover the mixture.  Cover and bring to a boil.. Lower heat to simmer for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, prepare country gravy with milk.  Stir into chowder and serve..
