Jack...worked with him back in 1978. He got to be one of the best crack shots in the world....The deer season before was warm...Jack hunted deer with his small game coat.. He used slugs....Now it was the new hunting season..Jack was hunting ringneck pheasants and was wearing his small game hunting coat. Ringneck takes off.. Jack aims and kill that ringneck dead... He goes over to it and the ringneck no longer has a head. Jack looks at his empty shotgun hull.. Dang...Jack shot the head off of that ringneck pheasant with a shotgun slug.. The slug was in his game pocket from the prior deer season when the weather was warm.
UB comment..of course we know Jack was not a crack shot...Jack was lucky shot that day. DANG!!!!!can you imagine him shooting the head off of a ringneck in small game season as it was flying with a 12 gauge Foster shotgun slug. Um someone up above wanted Jack to get that their ringneck that's for sure!!!!!
I decided after that to never hunt small game with Jack...
