In tight areas a small powered 100 yard light will get you by and that is about it. For a shot gun in close it is just great. But if you are looking to shoot something going away or shoot at the shoulder or positive identify something a little more light goes a long ways. A power full light with a dimmer is hard to beat. Go dim or bright. I say buy something you can turn down if you prefer not see real well or just like to light up there eyes. But do not skimp out on power if you can afford it. I have hunted with all the lights and will never recommend to handy cap anyone’s hunting at night because of not having enough light.
