Handling Fur in 2016/2017 Season

I know fur prices are being thought about by most callers.
This year is going to be a interesting one for the predator callers. The market is sluggish at best for Red fox and even worse for Gray fox. These critters are the main stay for callers. Raccoon is worth next to nothing.
How are you guys going to look at this fall season and handle your furs.
How many are going to hunt this year and how hard are you going to hunt?

I'm still going to hunt hard, simply because I love the sport.  My enjoyment is the calling.  I may use More mouth calls this year to hone my mouth call skills and not even shoot.

I will be hunting hard like past years just working on my calling and setup skills, coyotes are my main target I do have some land owners that ask me to shot fox they have had some chicken raiders so I try my best to help out.

I will probably hunt as much as I always do during season.just because I love the sport of calling. I dab alittle in trapping every year but this year I might even do more then usual due to the lack of work. The sport of calling to putting up fur is what I enjoy so the low prices is not going to keep me on the couch.

I did not target Coon last year. I will not call for Coon this year.
Trapping last year, I did catch a few Coon, accidently, in my Canine sets.

Calling & Trapping will go about the same pace as every season. But profit will be hard to see.
I love to harvest fur as much as anyone, but try to turn a profit.
I never seriously tried to call or trap Bobcat. I may do that this year for fun.
Also may try to trap Fisher & Otter for the fun of it.

It seems to me that there a lot of people selling traps on various sites. You think the predicted low prices r getting people out of the sport of trapping that is? I think it will be good calling with less competition from other callers at least in the past years low prices the more critters I call in the higher prices the less I call in.

I feel there will be some traps for sale. But looking around I do not see that many more used traps for sale. Maybe longer down the road we might see some more for sale cheap but who knows?
I know the guys that do not have much time to trap for extra money might sell there traps. But I think a lot will just hang on to them. They are already paid for and most guys keep them in case they ever do ever feel like going. I kept traps from 1980 just in case. I am retired now and they are comming out even tho fur is worth next to nothing.
I was at the trapper meet in District 8 and a friend  of mine purchased 168 new traps!! and he already has over 150 traps. He just wanted all the same type traps.
Hern one time said to me trappers will trap.
So I just think a lot of trappers just spend money on trapping like other guys spend money on guns, bows and bullets.
But there are fewer trappers out there but the guys that really like trapping will be out there for the fun and trying to break even on there costs.
