Very nice. Which trigger did you go with? A gun is only as good as its trigger.

The 58gr V-max I got going 3889fps. With this load sighted in at 100yds, it will be -1.5 low at 200yds and 6.79 low at 300yds. I just wonder how much fur damage this load will do???

I´m sure you´ll love your axis.  I own one in 223.  The only thing I did was install a rifle basic trigger and set the pull weight to 1.8 lbs.   From my experience, the axis is a very accurate rifle.  Its incredible that Savage can build such an accurate rifle for so little cost.

can an accutrigger be bought and placed into an axis? i'm sure its cheaper than a timney and that trigger shoots boy

DJ the accu trigger is actually much more expensive than the Timmney thus the price difference between the Savage with it and the axis. The Timmney trigger for the axis is like $95... Rick

What scope is riding on top?  Looks like you are using target turrets on it?

I too am a fan of a good trigger around a pound and a half.

Mike I was running around 1 1/2 pound trigger pull on my .223 and moved it back to 2 3/4. It was IMO it was very nice in the warm weather but too light in the winter when wearing gloves.

Percision optic scope 3x9x40......its work out pretty good...ive put a lot rounds threw it and its holding zero great...ive found my favorite bullet to be a Nosler spitzer 55 gr that ive been reloading...excellent accuracy...

Let's see some beautiful targets...love shooting my .243.  Just can't overdue it with this caliber...about 1,500 shots until accuracy will drop off for small critters.  Benchrest guys retire barrels around 1,200 rounds.  First month I put 500 shots through mine  :( then I looked up barrel life.   :o  Great caliber IMHO.
