FoxPro C27 Coy Pup Distress 3

Hello everyone!

I've been out of the predator calling scene for a little over 20 years, but sure am happy to be back into it.  I'm also glad to be a part this great site that's been  provided.  I also enjoy reading everyones posts, as I have learned a lot and it's been a great refresher.

I want to share with you about an experience I had on 2/26/12 at approx. dusk.  I had been calling for coyotes on an old reclaimed strippen cut.  It had a hollow on the other side and a wooded area above me.  I was hidden on the side of the hill between the woods and the cut. There was still snow in the woods, but the cut had been melted away.

Near the end of my set, I played the Coy. Pup Distress 3 for a minute or so and then sat for a few more.  When I decided to leave, I chose to walk up to the woods and straight back to my truck instead around the hillside like when I entered the spot.

Upon reaching the wooded area about 20 yards above me, I had found that two raccoons had been at the edge directly above me and coming into the Coy. Pup Distress 3.  It appeared by signs in the snow, that they scurried of quickly, perhaps when I stood up.

I didn't know if they thought it sounded like a hurt coon pup or it was out of curiousity, but I thought I would make eveyone aware that it does call or attract racoons, so you can try to watch your back side.

Keep up the great posts. I really enjoy them!
