Power skinner

I have electric winch to pull hide off Coyotes and Large Coons.
A friend uses a boat trailed hand winch, mouted to a pole, which works just as good as an electric winch.
Here's anchor point in cement floor (chain bolted to floor)

 
Tail and Flanks skun, Vice-Grips fasten to flanks (Vice-Grips have wide washer welded to each jaw for additional grip...

Just about to the shoulders...


Legs ringed and pulled, we're down to ears no need for e-winch from this point

Very nice!  I was thinking about the boat wench or even a deer hoist.  I love it when that red membrane stays on the carcuss.

some reason mine is tearing the hide where the vise grips attach.i welded 1" long,3/8 round stock ( 1 on top jaw,2 on bottom jaw) to help hold the hide.mabe wide jaw vise grips would be better? i'll see if i can get a picture of the setup tomorrow.

Are you peeling just below belly? or
Try attaching v-grips further up or double the hide.
First pic(left side), you can see the washers I welded inside jaws.

Would something like this work If I built it? They're significantly easier to skin when they're warm

If your skinning at your truck and its still warm you shouldnt need a power skinner.

But it should work.
