I have a Ruger stainless target in 25-06.  I love that gun.  I would use it for anything in the lower US.  Mine likes the 120gr.

I don't like remington ammo unfortunately.  I'm gonna use Hornady SST 117gr

Ya rem ammo sucks!  I shoot reloads or winchester.

my springfield will shoot nothing but green box rem loads, but shoots all 150, 165, 180, and even 220 all about the same at 100 yards, but my friend just traded his 25-06 in for an older remington 700 and he says its the best decision he ever made. I'm sure 25-06's are great rounds, my next deer rifle purchase will most likely between the 25-06, 6 mm, 260, 6.5 creedmore, or the trusty 243. His 25-06 for whatever reason just would not pattern for him even after cleanings and chaning out different manufactures rounds/grains.
