Fur Fish & Game Recommendations some are outstanding

I always like to Read Fur Fish & Game hints and or recommendation page..  Someone knows what they are talking about for sure.. This would make an excellent coyote baiting station...They suggested to dig a hole in the ice with an ice auger... Then take the skinned carcass of a critter.. I think they recommended a beaver.. Place it  half in and half out of the hole...Now when it freezes the carcass is half in frozen below the surface but the other half is sticking up above the ice.. In just the right lake.. One could sit there for a few hours and pop any coyote that comes to the hole to feed.  However you have to be careful hunting some of the hard water.. Oh about 5 years ago we lost a predator hunter in the Poconos.. We had one of those early thaws.. He was walking across a frozen lake to save time. It was night and to make a long story short he broke the ice and drowned.. So if your going to use tips like this you best know if the ice is frozen thick and well before you go out and retrieve your coyote after you shoot it.. I remember the same year I was hunting bobcat behind Bradys Lake in near Blakesly..I could have crossed the lake and been to my vehicle in a short period of time.. I elected to take the long way and walked the same way back along the shore line.  THINK!!!!!!!

a couple of years ago, i was fishing Presidents day weekend.  Fished on Friday came back Saturday morning and there were coyote tracks near every hole we drilled the day before.  Fished again on Sunday and there was more coyote tracks checking out the holes from the previous day.   I am guessing after we left the coyote would come out on the ice and check for anything was left around the holes.  This would be a good tactic for a money hunt.
