Heard my local weatherman say that this winter it's going to be cold...."I Like That."
He also said that there was going to be a lot of snow... Now I like that if the snow stays below 12 inches... Wow you get that deep snow and it's makes it hard for you to PARK your vehicle....That's the real problem...Trying to find a spot to park.. If your lucky the farmer will plow out a lane to the barn...You could always park there......But last year..It was so deep in my part of Pa the farmers just let it lay and never even cleaned lanes out for days....When they did you had to call just where it was legal..
What can one do when the snow gets deep? Ask the farmers if you can park just off of their driveway... I had a few that allowed me to do this..There was room by their house but not the barn....Some may make a lane for oil delivery...If the oil man already came you can ask to park there..
There was a time when in deep deep deep snow I would walk the railroad tracks down...See the trains push all the snow from the tracks and you can move from Point A to Point B real easy..However if a train comes it can be dangerous.. You have to move to the side of the tracks in the deep snow and crawl on your belly... Also if you shoot a fox you have to crawl on your belly to retrieve them... However after 9/11 cops and railroad detectives are starting to fine people for tresspassing on railroad property...It's dangerous too should a train come along and you don't hear it... So if you do this you might want to think about doing it since it's dangerous...
Snowshoes Alaskan type and the aluminium kind of like the bear paw type... They do work nice too. I near died one year. Snow must have been accumulated 5 feet. I tried to make a stand close to the farm..I walked in 100 yards and had a Asthma attack. As I walked back the asthma got worse and worse. If it was not for my inhaler I'd be gone now. Anyway lets pray for snow but snow that may accumulate at most 6 inches at a time.. I do remember seasons like this and it was a bumper year. Also think of the dangers that are out there that time of the year too.
