Predator Hunting / Coyotes 4 ME 0
« Last post by so-soshot on March 12, 2019, 09:23:46 AM »
Ok Feb. 4th I called in an killed a coyote since that time I have had coyotes less then 500yds 4 different times, yesterday after daylight had a pair close to 477yds I know that most would have been sending lead, maybe I should have but I was just not steady enough. About 2 weeks ago had the same pair at 304yds this was at night I just did not have a good enough sight picture in the scope to take the shot, both times they just left they was not spooked just lost interest or knew something was not right. This pair has been pressured a lot by me and the neighboring farm kids and some guy trapping, I seem to be able to get them to sound off an even show up at a distances sure would be nice to get a little closer. What's your thoughts?

I personally don’t think a dog should be charged.

First off I dont want to sound like I am crying because I am not. I am just wondering what other people's thoughts are on this. These predator hunts that clubs put on are great I enjoy doing them, fur is worth all but nothing atleast we can make alittle money doing these. The problem I have is that if you hunt with another person or with friends all of the guys you hunt with must be signed up I totally agree with. The part I dont like is guys that run dogs dont have to sign dogs in. They are apart of that team. I know other guys use calls or bait or what have you so the argument then would be they should have to sign in there calls or lights or bait piles. I was just wondering how other people felt about this should there be an extra fee for a team of dogs or what do you all think?

Past 2 weeks I really hunted hard and did a couple all nights. Every night tho I would see a big drop off in seeing fox from the hours of like 10,11 o'clock to like 2,3 o'clock anyone else notice this? And what times are you seeing best results?
