After searching for what seemed like forever I found a mint, never fired Ruger M77 Mark II chambered in .257 Roberts that was within my budget. For some reason I just wanted an uncommon deer caliber.
Anyone kill deer with one?
Time to save my pennies and find a .17 Fireball next.

;) ;) ;) That is an awesome caliber....it is what I bought for my daughter in a Browning Micro Medallion....I worked up a load for it and it is a tack driver... :o :o :o :o the more you shoot it the more you will like it. 8) 8)

If I can find some brass for it.

That is a super caliber. I have been shooting one for about 7 years now. I started with a custom shop barrel for my Encore, and then last year I bought a special run Browning A-Bolt from Grice's.
I shoot a 100gr. bullet when deer hunting, and a 75gr. for varmints. It works well on both! and comfortable to shoot...

I just picked up some Hornady 100 grain spire points. Going to give them a shot once my dies get here next week. I'm chomping at the bit to shoot this thing. Gander had one box for $55.

Yep, that's the one I shoot. Good bullet.
