Title: Recall on 17 HMR guns and ammo

I was at Gander Mountain and noticed there was no 17HMR ammo on the shelves. They told me there was a recall on all ammo. I don't know why. Remington also recalled all 17HMR semi-auto loaders rifles shooting 17 HMR ammo. Apparently, they are giving back your money  on these rifles.

There is no recall on the ammo.  There is none to be found because of the demand.  I have an order in with GunSource for 500rds its been on back order for a month and a half.  Customer service says they just cannot get any .

Not so, David (MANAGER) Gander Mountain store at West Mifflin , PA. said there is a recall on ammo. Furthermore, there is a total recall on all remington semi-auto rifles. They are buying them all back.

I shoot a savage 93r17 rifle so that don't matter.  But with the ammo every one that I have talked to try to get 17 ammo has said no one has it in stock and they do not know when they will get it.

walmarts here have all the 17 ammo you could want,seen a few different brands.
i didnt hear about the ammo,read anout the remingtons.

true value hardware in dry tavern,pa. has cartons of various 17 hmr ammo
also

our gander mountain carries a terrible supply.

Just an update

I finally dug into this recall.  The recall is for Remington .17 HMR ammo only and Remington Model 597 Semi-Auto rifles.
